ESG reports on IBM's solution to the real-time data compression riddle

File attachment:

If IT managers cannot halt the influx of digital information, they can at least shrink it. Data can be compressed and optimized as soon as it hits the data center. The immediate savings grow larger as time passes and the files move downstream to secondary environments because the costs of protecting growing amounts of data can also be extremely high: big investments in storage capacity, compute power, and network bandwidth are required during each phase of data growth, replication, backup, and eventual archiving. This ESG paper compares IBM's approach to data compression and offers guidance on why the analyst group believe IBM may have found an innovative solution to the challenge of unrelenting data growth.
